How it works

How Upneeq Works

Upneeq is a prescription ophthalmic solution (eye drop) and the first and only FDA-approved topical medication indicated for the treatment of acquired blepharoptosis (low-lying upper eyelids).

It works by temporarily stimulating the Müller’s muscle in the upper eyelid, resulting in a measurable elevation of the upper lid and a more open eye appearance.

Upneeq contains an alpha-adrenergic agonist that:

  • Stimulates Müller’s muscle in the upper eyelid
  • Increases upper eyelid elevation
  • Improves visible eyelid opening
  • Creates a more awake, open-eye appearance

Effects are temporary and localized to the eye area. Read below to learn how to use & precautions:

01
How to use

Cut open foil wrapper and remove single-use vial.

02
How to use

Apply one drop of Upneeq in both eyes as directed, once a day.

03
precautions

Do not let the tip of the vial touch your eye or any surface. Vials should not be reused after opening. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.
