WHAT LASEMD MAY IMPROVE

Why skin tone and texture change — and how LaseMD addresses the layer beneath.

Sun damage, fine lines, and texture irregularity begin in the upper dermis — where collagen fibres have thinned and melanin has accumulated unevenly. LaseMD uses non-ablative fractional laser energy to heat these deeper layers, triggering collagen remodelling and cellular turnover without disrupting the skin's surface barrier.

The result: improved tone, refined texture, and reduced appearance of sun damage — with a recovery period measured in days, not weeks.

Sun damage & age spots

Cumulative UV exposure causes melanin to accumulate unevenly in the upper dermis — producing flat dark spots, uneven tone, and dullness. LaseMD targets this layer directly, stimulating cellular turnover that gradually clears accumulated pigment from below.

Fine lines & early wrinkles

As collagen thins in the upper dermis, the skin loses its structural support and surface lines deepen. LaseMD stimulates new collagen production in the dermis — improving the appearance of fine lines progressively over 10–12 weeks.

Uneven skin texture

Rough or uneven surface texture is a sign of sluggish cellular renewal — dead skin cells accumulating faster than they turn over. The fractional laser accelerates this cycle, refining texture without disrupting the outer barrier.

Dullness & overall skin quality

When cellular renewal slows with age or sun damage, skin loses its natural luminosity. LaseMD supports the renewal process at the dermal level, contributing to a more even, clearer complexion over a series of treatments.

Post-inflammatory marks (mild)

Mild post-inflammatory marks from acne or irritation — where discolouration sits in the upper dermis rather than deep atrophic scarring — may respond to LaseMD. Deeper acne scarring is better addressed with RF Microneedling or the Acne Scar multi-approach programme.

Why it works for you

Matched to your concern. Not a generic formula.

LaseMD targets the dermal layer where pigment accumulates and collagen thins — addressing the root cause of tone and texture changes, not just the surface.

Ideal For

  • Sun damage, age spots, and uneven tone
  • Fine lines and surface texture
  • Dull or sluggish-looking skin
  • Mild acne scarring and post-inflammatory marks

Does Not Treat

  • Deep acne scarring — see RF Microneedling
  • Volume loss — see Dermal Fillers or Sculptra
  • Significant pigmentation (dermal melasma)
  • Active skin infections, rosacea in the treatment area, or tanned skin

Non-ablative: surface intact

LaseMD heats the dermis fractionally without removing the outer skin layer. The surface stays intact during treatment — which is what keeps downtime to days rather than weeks.

Collagen rebuilt at the source

The fractional laser energy reaches the dermis where collagen thinning occurs, triggering the skin's own repair response. Results build progressively over 12 weeks as new collagen forms.

A lunch-hour treatment with weeks of improvement

Treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. Most patients experience redness and a sandpaper texture for 3–7 days, after which results begin to emerge. The improvement continues for up to 12 weeks.

Your Treatment Journey

What to expect at every stage.

  • Stop blood thinners 1 week before.
  • Stop topical exfoliants and retinol 1 week before. Continue to avoid until skin has fully healed.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure. Tanned or sunburnt skin may require rescheduling.
  • Allow at least 2 weeks since last neuromodulator or filler treatment, and 1 month before or after any other laser treatments or peels.
  • Arrive with no jewelry, a low-cut top, and bare skin (SPF is okay).
  • The LaseMD device delivers fractional laser energy across the treatment area. Some warmth is normal.
  • Immediately after: redness, warmth, tightness, and mild dryness — similar to a moderate sunburn. Skin may also peel or flake.
  • Days 3–7: skin may feel sandpapery and dry. Keep moisturised until fully healed. Do not exfoliate or pick.
  • Days 5–7: sandpaper texture resolves naturally.
  • Avoid makeup, exercise, and excessive heat for 24 hours. Gentle cleanser AM/PM, moisturiser, and physical SPF only.
  • Avoid facials, peels, and microdermabrasion for 2 weeks.

How it works

Fractional energy to the dermis. Surface intact. Collagen rebuilt below.

LaseMD uses non-ablative fractional technology to deliver laser energy in a pattern of microscopic columns into the skin. Each column heats the dermis — stimulating collagen production and cellular turnover in the treated zones — while leaving surrounding tissue intact to support fast recovery.

Unlike ablative lasers that remove the outer skin layer, LaseMD works beneath the surface. The outer barrier stays intact. Downtime is limited to the natural shedding of the skin's upper layers as the renewal cycle accelerates.

  • Non-ablative: no outer skin removal, no wound healing.
  • Fractional: treats columns of tissue, leaving surrounding skin to support recovery.
  • Results build over 12 weeks as collagen production continues.
  • Can be used as a standalone or combined with KeraLase™ for scalp/hair applications.

Questions & Answers

What patients ask before they book.

Is LaseMD a laser?

Yes — LaseMD is a non-ablative fractional laser. Unlike ablative lasers, it does not remove the outer skin layer. It delivers energy beneath the surface to stimulate collagen without extended downtime.

How much downtime is there?

Most patients experience 3–7 days of redness, dryness, and a sandpaper texture as the skin renews. You can return to most activities within 24 hours, though we recommend avoiding heavy exercise and heat for the first day.

When will I see results?

Visible improvement typically begins around day 10. Results continue to develop and reach their peak around 12 weeks as new collagen matures.

How many sessions do I need?

3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typical. Your provider builds the right plan at consultation based on your skin and goals.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes. LaseMD pairs well with SkinPen microneedling (spaced appropriately) and is used as the laser component in our KeraLase™ hair restoration treatment.
